Hello, my name is Heather Dornean and I am the founder of bubble & squeak. I am a Mother to two wonderful children Jack and Quinn. I am a former educator and studio hair and makeup artist that has worked for companies such as Loreal, Chanel, Ocsar Blandi, Paramount Pictures and more. My greatest passion, second to my children, is the art and education of hair. Hair is my favorite medium to work with. I find great pleasure and fulfillment in helping men, women, and children discover self-expression in hair styling, increased hair/ scalp health and manageability, and sharing the wealth of professional knowledge I have accumulated in my 15 year + career in this industry.

When my Son was diagnosed with Autism and later congenital heart defects, I put my career on pause to dedicate my life to his care and advocacy. It was in my pursuit of finding quality haircare for my children as they transitioned from toddlers to kids that led to me developing bubble & squeak. I could not find a brand of haircare that was specifically formulated for kids’ unique hair structure, that was professionally formulated and pH balanced, at a reasonable price. After searching high and low, I knew I had found my next calling, I knew I had to get to work.

I feel that all children, including kids with special needs, deserve to have the same access to products formulated for their unique needs just like babies, teenagers, and adults do. Kids deserve to have products that they can easily use on themselves, that makes grooming less intimidating, less sensory overstimulating, and free from pain. Bubble & squeak is a melding of my two greatest loves, kids and hair, and I am so excited and proud to share what we’ve created with you all!
